TALE OF TWO CITIES
Friday night went to a couple of parties - one in Brooklyn, one in Manhattan.
The first was a gallery opening in .Williamsburg showing urban / hiphop art - called Maginificent 7. Pretty cool - lots of people in caps and vests and plenty of Japanese with 'autograph' books looking for cool graffiti artists to tag their pages. Free beer too!! and lots of people smoking pot on the sidewalk.
Then we blagged our way in to a Fashion Week party in Manhattan at the Tribeca Grand. Full of uber trend wannabee New Yorkers. Fun to see for about, oh, thirty seconds - i.e. lots of birds looking slutty in that New York 80s/rock chic. Funny to see men in shell suits or suit jackets with running shorts. After that realised that no one was having any fun - just checking each other out.
Don't know which party I preferred - actually I preferred the pub we went to after round the corner fromt he Tribeca Grand where everyone was pissed. At last, people properly enjoying themselves.
