Went and saw the specialist about my tooth. After several minutes of dismissing British dentistry (who was I to argue - I think he even mentioned Austin powers) we talked about motorbikes as he showed me the computer generated images of my molar. 'See what a bad job they did?' he asked. Technology who needs it....
He then gave me a running commentary of the operation - you can't say a thing can you. By the end of it though i felt like I had the best dentist appointment ever. Then the lady on reception handed me a bill for $1365 bucks.... It's all now just numbers, gone beyond the point of caring about debt.
I celebrated with a cup of tea with Andrew at Le Gamin in East Village (very nice and French: 536 E5th). Then we wandered down to the Lower East Side. Most the shops were closed so Andrew showed me his latest discovery: the Economy Candy store (108 Rivington Street)... that's where the tooth trouble started, I thought. Fantastic place full of (whhat appears to be) last of line candy. Had to have a couple of Andrew's candy worms tho- helped sweeten the earlier credit card bashing.
