Power will come, at least initially, from the Brazilian-built Tritec 1.6-litre engine as supplied to Chrysler, as used in the Mk1 Mini. This will be adapted by Lotus for 'trybrid' multi-fuel capability, giving the option to run on petrol, bioethanol or natural gas; and besides an entry-level normally-aspirated version, 170bhp and 250bhp turbocharged variants will also be produced. Shortly after the launch of these models, eco-friendly electric versions will follow too.Lotus signs up for Brazilian threesome - 4Car News from Channel 4
